****WHO WROTE THE BIBLE?****

All the Authors:

The Bible comprises at least 40 authors who wrote across more than 1,500 years, though their identities vary in certainty. Of the 66 biblical books, 55 have well-identified authors, while 11—Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Esther, Job, and Hebrews—remain "anonymous".

The Old Testament books are attributed to:

Moses (Genesis–Deuteronomy, Job??)

Joshua, Samuel/Nathan/Gad (Judges–2 Samuel)

Jeremiah (1–2 Kings)

Ezra (1–2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah)

Mordecai (Esther)

David and others (Psalms)

Solomon (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon)

Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.

The New Testament includes:

Matthew

John Mark (Mark)

Luke, John, Paul (Romans through Philemon)

James

Peter

Jude

Hebrews (possibly Paul, Luke, Barnabas, or Apollos)

Some books had multiple contributors:

Psalms contains work from at least seven different writers??

Proverbs names Solomon, Agur, and King Lemuel as authors
